Sandi Wassmer

Sandi Wassmer is a trailblazer and pioneering leader in equality, inclusion, and accessibility. As CEO of enei since 2020, she is championing the organisation as a blind female CEO with ADHD. She is using her lived experience to shape transformative policies across government, industry, and third sector. As a passionate and lifelong human rights advocate, Sandi voiced her support for accessibility, co-authoring the Government’s e-Accessibility Action Plan after losing her sight in 2008 and being diagnosed with ADHD in 2009. In 2011, she developed the "Ten Principles of Inclusive Web Design," which became the blueprint for the accessible .gov.uk platform.

Sandi’s leadership journey spans the commercial and charity sectors, including roles as COO of SyFy UK and MD of Copious before transitioning to the charity sector. Additionally, she has served as a Trustee for the RNIB and as a Non-Executive Director at Mental Health First Aid England.

Recognised for her contributions, Sandi became a liveryman of the Worshipful Company of the Spectacle Makers and received the Freedom of the City of London in 2022.

Sandi’s visionary leadership continues to challenge barriers, champion equity, and create lasting, inclusive change across society.
