Helen Johnson is a true powerhouse in the advertising and media world, with more than 23 years of experience, including a decade in senior leadership. From starting as an intern at P&G to becoming Senior Brand Director and now Managing Director at Capture (part of SMG), Helen’s career is defined by turning big ideas into measurable impact.
At P&G, she transformed 17 iconic brands across 11 markets, including Olay and Head & Shoulders with standout initiatives like a channel-differentiated strategy. Later, as Group Director at SMG, she scaled its central capability team, doubling its capacity across media, strategy and insight. Helen also led the charge on transformational data led solutions, developing platforms like Boots Media Group’s Audience 360, ASDA Access, and Co-op Compass, empowering brands to unlock the full potential of first-party data.
Now at the helm of Capture’s 50-strong team, she partners with global names like PepsiCo, McCain and pladis but her impact goes far beyond commercial results. A passionate mentor and culture-builder, Helen has supported over 30 people into new roles and promotions, championed flexible working and helped shape progressive policies around maternity and fertility across the industr.
