Clara Govier

Clara Govier has served as the Managing Director and Chair of People’s Postcode Lottery since May 2018. Before stepping into this role, she was Deputy Managing Director and previously led the organisation’s charitable portfolio as Head of Charities. 

Clara brings over two decades of leadership experience spanning the communications and charity sectors. Her earlier career includes senior media relations roles at the Scottish Wildlife Trust and the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, where she championed conservation and public engagement initiatives. 

A committed advocate for global and community impact, Clara currently sits on the High-Level Steering Group for Education Cannot Wait, the UN global fund for education in emergencies. She also serves as Secretary of People’s Postcode Lottery’s Charity Advisory Committee, which provides strategic advice in helping make sure funds raised by Postcode Lottery players deliver the maximum positive impact for society. 

In recognition of her leadership and influence, Clara was named to Management Today's Women in Leadership Powerlist in 2025, highlighting her as one of the UK's most inspiring female leaders. Clara received the award because of her outstanding dedication and contribution to the charity sector, which has seen her champion unrestricted funding – a rarity in fundraising but something which allows charities to be more efficient and deliver more impact.
