Clara Govier
Managing Director, People's Postcode Lottery
For 15 years, Clara Govier has held key senior roles at People’s Postcode Lottery, helping to build a remarkable business which is now a household name across Britain.
As Managing Director, she leads a team of 400, all dedicated to helping change people’s lives.
Clara credits her artist mother with a ‘can-do, will-do‘ approach to her leadership at the lottery, which is now played by 4.5 million people and has raised £ 1.5 billion for more than 19,000 charities and good causes.
Clara’s mum once illustrated Blue Peter annuals but successfully reinvented herself when she joined the fledgling electronic games industry.
Clara says that from an early age, she learned that for every challenge flung at you, good ideas must be thrown back. No wonder she has perfected the knack of delivering.
She is also on a mission - fearlessly campaigning in Westminster and Holyrood and galvanising charity leaders to scrap a needless limit on charity lottery funding which will cost hard-pressed charities £175 million over the next five years unless the law is changed. It will cost the taxpayer nothing, she says.
Clara Govier is up for the challenge and has a lot of influential people right by her side.
