Claire Rowney, CEO of Breast Cancer Now is one of the charity sector’s most influential strategic leaders, known for delivering transformational fundraising growth and driving sector-wide cultural change. In her first year as CEO, she developed and implemented the organisation’s five-year strategy, Change Happens Now, setting an ambitious course for growth and impact, including a goal to raise £100m annually by 2030 to accelerate research, care and support. She’s also leading a brand refresh to expand the organisation’s reach and support for people affected by breast cancer. Prior to Breast Cancer Now, Claire held executive roles at Macmillan Cancer Support, Save the Children UK and Cancer Research UK, leading fundraising, marketing and communications teams. Over two decades in the sector, she has built a reputation for ambitious, purpose-led leadership, empowering teams to innovate and perform while delivering significant income growth and cultural transformation. Claire is a trustee of Ronald McDonald House Charities and previously served as Chair and Trustee of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising, demonstrating sector leadership. Her career includes award-winning campaigns and fundraising growth, including three Cannes Lions for Macmillan’s Whatever It Takes campaign and increasing contribution at Save the Children UK by 19% in her first year.
